About the Client

A truly exciting organisation which puts together energy efficient solutions for commercial & industrial clients across Australia is now seeking an Operations Manager to join the business. As part of succession planning for the leadership team, you will initially take responsibility for leading the National project team and the operation side of the organisation, with a view to becoming the Operations Director in time.

This business is successful and is currently managing a number of potential interest from investors to continue on a fast-track growth and expansion journey.


Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:
• Lead the National Project Team and represent OES Project Solutions throughout the industry.
• Formulate project management plans addressing Scope, HSE and Quality outcomes.
• Ensure project activities are performed in accordance with company policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements and financial targets.
• Managing and developing future OES Operational Process and Procedure to meet ISO9001 compliance and beyond;
• Ensure that OES is up to date with all relevant compliance, industry standards and development of technology - through development of key external relationships.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage and develop OES Proprietary End-to-End Process Management Software.
• Support Vendor Assessment Process with Technical and Operational expertise, and create RFQ documentation for electrical installation.
• Generate relevant technical project documentation (request for quotations, SOW, technical schedules, drawings, datasheets, operating and training manuals, functional specifications etc.)
• Provide projects and tenders with engineering design and project management services, delivered to the required technical and quality standards, within both agreed schedule and budget, and to the clients specifications.
• Develop Road map for continuous improvement strategy - driving operational efficiency, cost savings and maximising productivity year on year.
• Advise and review projects in the sales phase (compliancy check)
• Manage client expectations, maintaining an environment that is outcomes focused and encourages open communication.
• Manage project life cycles and work with internal teams to ensure that requirements are understood, and time-frames met.
• Oversee the development of project plan documents in relation to scope, budget, schedule, and risk management
• Manage and maintain project cost plans including forecasting of risks and cost contingencies.
• Management and delivery of complex projects within scope and budget.

• Complete the handover of projects and associated documents, including stakeholder sign off on scope delivery for all projects.
• This role carries direct financial responsibility for completion of projects within budgetary limits.


Key Experience

• Minimum 5-10 years proven operations management or senior project management - in a similar role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management Methodologies, project management tools and project reporting.
• PRINCE2 Certification will be highly regarded - but not essential.
• Previous experience in delivering ISO9001 compliance will be highly regarded - but not essential.
• Practical knowledge of Australian Standards such as AS1680, Building Code of Australia etc.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and other associated design packages will be highly regarded - but not essential.
• Proven ability to support and convert new business opportunities.
• Strong management and solid organisation skills.
• Pro-active and highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Uncompromising commitment to Health & Safety, Service Excellence and Sustainability.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in contract administration and working effectively with external partners/vendors to ensure they deliver to contract and required standards.
• Possess a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
• Analytical and Research focused work ethic.
• Solid client-facing communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of risk management and quality assurance control.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Product Suite - primarily Project, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• High energy and willingness to go the extra yard.
• Willing to travel interstate and stay on site when required.
