About our Client:
Our client is a leading renewable energy developer and operator with a primary focus on Australia, Japan and South Korea. Established in 2019, our client is rapidly growing its flatform and are looking to appoint highly skilled and experienced executives to join their team based in Melbourne and Sydney.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Manager Electrical Engineering to lead electrical engineering work in the development of embedded energy, behind-the-meter, off-grid and micro-grid projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare concept designs of the electrical system for projects, including drafting single line diagrams.
• Conduct load scenario calculations, develop a redundancy philosophy, specify generation capacity,
• Prepare specifications for major equipment packages with a project such as PV generation, transformers, switchgear, synchronous condensers, battery energy storage systems, SCADA systems.
• Manage requests for proposals to equipment suppliers and contractors. Lead on negotiating technical specifications and scopes of work. Support contract negotiation. Define suitable performance guarantees for contractors for each project.
• Prepare budget estimates.
• Manage the work of technical consultants that may be engaged from time to time in relation to project design, due diligence or as owner's engineer
• Provide project management oversight to the work of contractors in the execution of projects, including work progress (schedule), compliance with specifications, equipment supply testing and QC records, site commissioning and performance testing.
• Contribute actively to finding new project opportunities for development.
• Maintain and enhance a thorough understanding of Australia's and each relevant State's/Territory's electricity distribution and transmission network framework from a technical, regulatory, and commercial point of view.
• In the case of grid connected projects, secure connection agreements including negotiating Generator Performance Standards and cost-effective commercial contracts for the Company, including input on all relevant commercial issues.
• In the case of grid connected projects, manage the contractual delivery of Connection Agreements to ensure the efficient delivery of connections for renewable energy projects; including managing due diligence with AEMO and NSPs, meeting Generator Performance Standards, and requirements for testing, commissioning, energization, and registration.
• In the case of grid connected projects, ensure that the interfaces between NSPs and project stakeholders are effectively managed.
• Manage consultants to perform grid connection studies to ensure the successful completion of each stage of the grid connection process and technical compliance with AEMO regulations (including generating system data to satisfy planning data requirements, pre and post commissioning testing etc).

• Ensure compliance with safety, OH&S and environmental and risk management requirements in relation to all electrical engineering aspects

Key Criteria:
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience and criteria:
• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field
• Demonstrated experience in Design, specification, installation, commissioning of power systems for off-grid, micro-grid or industrial plant applications
• Strong understanding of:
-Power system design
-Integration of renewable and non-renewable generation types
-SCADA system integration
-Australian electrical design standards
-Electricity regulatory environment and network configuration
-Electricity network risks and considerations for key state/territories and regions
• Ability to manage complex technical and commercial issues
• Strong interpersonal communications skills
