About the role:

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Shutdown Superintendent to join an established EPCM to work across Iron Ore projects. This key leadership role will provide direction to the shutdown teams, ensuring the safe execution of shutdown plans, schedules and strategies for the fixed plant. Additionally, you will also be responsible for the constant review of shutdown safety, performance and costs ensuring best practice standards are achieved.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Delivering long term planned tasks to site stakeholders and consulting with execution teams for forward shut planning and emerging works
Ensuring plans are adhered to on a weekly basis
Developing and managing shutdown budgets and providing input into monthly reconciliations
Reviewing shut performance on an ongoing basis across all areas, including safety and cost, in order to ensure processes are continually improved
Attending all shutdown planning meetings in the lead up and review of the scheduling cycle
Ensuring compliance with the Safety Management System, applicable standards and accepted practices, and driving a culture of zero harm
Providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to shut execution team and promoting a culture of innovation and improvement

Qualifications and skills required:

Relevant Mechanical Trade and/ or Engineering Qualifications
Significant experience in a maintenance or shutdown leadership role
Experience working with bulk material handling equipment including - screens, conveyors, crushers, stackers and train loaders
Maintenance execution/ planning experience using all aspects CMMS including strategy development
Contractor management experience and exposure to working with external stakeholders
Working knowledge of Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
Excellent people management skills and the ability to solve complex problems
Strong planning, organisational and scheduling skills along with the ability to work effectively under pressure
