About our Client:

Our client is a global consultancy providing engineering, design, planning and project management services for many of the world's most prominent projects in the built environment.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Engineer / Associate to join the Environment and Resources group based in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for waste and resource management and have the opportunity to work on waste-based projects and support other disciplines with waste management plan projects and design advice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage small to medium projects
• Responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets, and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area
• Represent the organisation at internal and external events. You may be responsible for designing and delivering events, activities and projects which impact the business
• Responsible for the performance and development of others through providing guidance, training, direction and feedback

Key Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience and criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Environmental / Civil / Mechanical / Chemical / Process), Environmental Science or similar
• 5+ years industry experience in waste and resource management within a consulting business environment
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines at a state and federal level
• Demonstrated experience working on strategic / policy, feasibility studies, due diligence and technical review studies, project development as well as infrastructure procurement and environmental approvals
• Proven experience delivering waste management plans and strategies (operational and construction) and providing design advice
• Experience working on organic waste management infrastructure projects
• Interpersonal communication skills with excellent report writing skills
• Ability to operate and work collaboratively as part of a large and regional design team
• Ability to working independently and lead small teams
• Experience developing new business and preparing high quality proposals
• Numerical skills and the ability to manipulate data and construct moderately complex models in MS Excel

• Membership of relevant professional institutions, or eligibility for membership
• Experience with CAD software will be highly advantageous
