About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior / Lead Instrumentation Engineer to provide specialist technical direction and advice to the client and project teams. The role will be heavily involved in engineering design, technical verification, proposals, building positive relationships, training and mentorship. The suitable candidate will have experience in sustaining energy projects and be a proactive and positive attitude.


Responsibilities
• Provide technical direction and advice
• Determine technical issues, define alternate solutions, establish pros/cons for multiple solutions and make recommendations.
• Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes
• Prepare, assist and oversee the production of engineering calculations, drawings and documentation
• Implement innovative solutions, technology advances and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence
• Build positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers and contractors
• Support proposals by advising on the project execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content and presenting to customers.
• Support the business by communicating team resource loading and skill requirements to a direct supervisor or Discipline Manager.
• Mentor, train and assist with employee performance reviews.
• Participate in bid clarifications, bid evaluations, interdiscipline vendor information review and approval, and other certification activities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Communicate effectively and regularly with project stakeholders and team


Key Criteria
• Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline
• Solar / BESS / Hydrogen experience essential
• Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the I&C discipline within the oil & gas or energy industry
• An excellent understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards and industry standard practices
• Skilled in estimating project costs and writing proposal content
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence others and develop strong internal and external relationships
