Civil Project Engineer (Renewables)

Our client is an international civil contractor that works within Australia's Renewable Energy industry. They are currently looking for a Project Engineer to assist their Site Based Project Manager for the construction of one of Australia's largest solar farms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Biding phase:
• Review plans and drawings participate with the feasibility survey before tendering.
• Managing the anticipated design phases from tendering through to delivery phase.
• Assist with project programming.
• Manage the technical issues and design solutions.

Projects Implementation phase:
• Providing weekly and monthly reports on project operations, programming, cost management, maintenance control and HSEQ on site.
• Assist in the technical aspects of the procurement of contractors including scope of work, and tender coordination.
• Assist and undertake material orders and supplies
• Assist with project planning and plant movements where required
• Support with delivery of necessary site based HSEQ deliverables to meet client expectations.
• Support Project manager when required on commercial aspects.
• Undertake and manage site surveying and setting out reporting to site project manager
• Produce 2D CAD as built layout drawings from as installed survey data picked up from site
• Management of project programming and updates.
• Manage quality control and conformity to standard HSEQ requirements.
• Ensure design integrity in the final project.

Skills and experience
Specific skills:
• You will provide support to the Project Manager/ HSEQ Manager and Site Supervisor by directly being responsible with the delivery aspects of their package of work to ensure the project is delivered within budget, time, quality, and sustainability objectives safely.
• GPS survey set out, as-built plus detailed document reporting will form a large part of your daily duties.
• Wind Farm or Solar Farm experience mandatory
Interpersonal skills:
• Precise, flexible and must always remain well-organised.
• Aptitude for problem solving and innovative thinking.
• High levels of communication skills required.
• High levels of ability to report / discuss relevant topics with client, product supplier and internal senior management.

Bachelor of Engineering Degree in either Civil/ Structural/ Mechanical or electrical engineering required as a minimum.
• Proficient with use of MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
• Experienced with a range of surveying tools including Leica Total Stations, Leica GS16 GPS etc.
• Proficient with the use of AutoCAD

This is a permanent position to candidates with Australian working rights. It is site based, working on a 3/1 roster.
