About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will take responsibility for critical accounting tasks that ensure the timeliness and accuracy of reporting. This role will offer autonomy and really requires someone who will take initiative and drive processes.
You will be dedicated to providing a premium service and embrace technology software and best practice in order to do this. Your commercial mind will always be looking for ways to provide a superior service.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Across the month your duties will include (but not be limited to):
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting concepts and processes
  • Flexibility in working with multiple systems and sources of information
  • Great attention to detail and be results driven
  • Assist with the payroll function
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Debtor Collection
  • Statutory Compliance - BAS & PAYG Preparation, Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation
  • Assist in the monthly and year end reporting including the financial reports
  • Assist in the preparation of budget, forecasts, cash flow
  • Ledger Account Reconciliation
  • Fixed Assets Register
  • Processing journals
  • Cash management & reconciliation
  • Managing prepayments & accruals
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide assistance to the AR/AP function
  • Assist in Office Administration
  • Assist in Other ad hoc duties as required.


Key Criteria

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant for this role, someone who has ideally worked in a complex environment who can use their experience and initiative to drive processes in the role. Ideally you will have;
  • At least 2-3 years in a similar role
  • Advanced excel and ERP experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting concepts and processes
  • Flexibility in working with multiple systems and sources of information
  • Great attention to detail and be results driven
  • Degree qualification in Accounting/Commerce
  • Commencing or undertaking CA/CPA/CIMA
