Due to a large pipeline of projects, our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join the team, There are various projects on the table depending on the experience and location of the individual.

  • Some site visits required
  • Brownfield Substation Construction
  • Reports to: Operations Manager

Manages the project to contribute towards the safe, cost effective, quality provision of service that meets the client's
requirements, KPIs and financial targets of the project/s.

Experience Required
  • Project Management experience with demonstrated successful outcomes in the delivery of infrastructure projects
• Diploma or Cert IV desirable
• Experience managing multiple complex projects.
• Experience managing engineering, procurement and construction teams
• Strong ability to lead, drive and motivate contractors and employees to achieve program milestones
• Demonstrated commercial/financial acumen
• Proven track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills
• Track record of delivering projects to time/ quality/
cost objectives
• PM team management

People Management
• Lead and develop the team to enhance employee engagement, increase workforce mobility, driving individual and team performance, and ensure attraction and retention of talent

Financial Management
• Manage accurate forecasting for revenue and cost
• Manage projects to meet or exceed tendered gross margin and cash flow targets and regularly update project cost information and forecasting
• Manage claims (including variations) to ensure completely justified, comprehensive and supported by appropriate documentation and submitted on time to achieve agreed budget and gross margin
• Identify and secure margin improvement opportunities
• Provide input to the estimating the tendering process
• Provide supporting documentation to ensure target adjustments are completely justified

Project Management
• Manage and supervise the site based delivery of the project
• Monitor and influence contractor performance to ensure timely delivery of project
• Deliver projects to contractual requirements

• Ensure projects are delivered to agreed Safety, Time, Quality and Budget expectations
• Ensure project delivery complies with the company's PDS
• Development of process and practices for the successful delivery of projects within the Division

• Manage relationships with key stakeholders within the wider company's business
• Review proposal, associated technical documentation and drawings, identifying effect on ongoing performance of asset and any other issues/risks
Resource Management
• Ensure project personnel including contractors are suitably qualified and experienced and perform efficiently within scope of project
• Complete appropriate project documentation and ensure accurate as laid records are submitted
Commercial / Risk Management
• Ensure business processes are followed and audit actions are completed within prescribed timeframes
• Ensure that project risks are managed in accordance with PDS
• Develop, maintain and implement HSEQ and operational documentation
• Ensure that all relevant HSEQ and operational documentation is available and suitable prior to commencement of work
• Ensure escalation of issues within a timely manner
• Conduct in progress and post audits ensuring compliance and follow up with contractors on any non conformances
• Liaise with various client groups, Government Authorities, utility companies and contractors in issues effecting the maintenance, construction, risk mitigation and improvement of client assets e.g. RTA, Councils, Developers, Consultants, SRA and Sydney Water
Stakeholder Management
• Manage stakeholder relationships to support the achievement of internal and client KPIs
• Ensure that customers are continually aware of their current project status through effective reporting and management;
• Continually grow and develop internal and external relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction
• Identify potential new clients for the company
• Meet and assist client to develop scope of work based on technical expertise
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with peer client personnel
• Cooperate with other Business Units to provide the optimum, One-company, approach to clients
• Managed within the company's Policy and legislative requirements
• Achieve Safety Targets for TRIFR and lead indicators
• Attend / Conduct site inductions, tool box talks and on site meetings when required
• Conduct site audits, monitoring completion of work against plan, providing technical advice and support during construction and ensuring compliance to existing policies, procedure, guidelines and work instructions
