Due to a large pipeline of projects, our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join the team for ongoing permanent employment.

The purpose of the Construction Manager role is to safely manage and coordinate all site activities in conjunction with the Project Manager.

Experience Required
• Trade qualifications in relevant field
• Proven leadership skills in contracting industry environment
• Cert IV in WHS (or willingness to complete)
• Proven safety record

People Management
• Manage personnel in accordance with company policies, ensuring only personnel with appropriate skills and qualifications are employees / assigned to carry out required tasks
• Ensure the ongoing performance management of the team
• Provide ongoing Leadership and support to team
• Support strong ownership of personal performance and commitment and pride in work
• Support the management of development plans and provide regular face to face feedback with direct reports on their performance to improve capability and minimise turnover of team
• Support a culture aligning with the company values

Financial Management
• Provide supporting documentation to ensure target adjustments are completely justified
• Provide accurate input into forecasting of program resource requirements
• Manage to target operating costs
• Provide input to the statement of work process

Program Management
• Manage and supervise the site based delivery of the project
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within allocated budget
• Manage sub-contractors on site
• Manage internal crews on site
• Deliver projects to contractual requirements
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Resource Management
• Manage internal resources, subcontractors and suppliers utilising company processes and procedures
• Ensure project personnel including contractors are suitably qualified and experienced and perform efficiently within scope of project
• Coordinate on-site sub-contractor or internal resources when required for plant and equipment to meet project requirements
• Collate, document and submit daily site diaries to standards agreed with the PM
• Provide information to ensure as-build diagrams are completed as required

Commercial / Risk Management
• Ensure that project risks are managed in accordance with PDS
• Develop, maintain and implement HSEQ and operational documentation
• Ensure that all relevant HSEQ and operational documentation is available and suitable prior to commencement of work
• Carry out on-site audits to ensure adequate compliance to required standards
• Ensure that assigned action items are addressed in a timely manner
• Ensure escalation of issues within a timely manner and according to contractual requirements
• Collate and compile all information necessary for the PM to lodge variation claims to the Client
• Identify opportunities to improve project margin
• Provide quality information including documentation as requested by the Project Manager

Stakeholder Management
• Manage stakeholder relationships to support the achievement of internal and client KPIs
• Provide input into customer and company reporting
• Manage scope, schedule, budget and project risk on-site
• Ensure that customers are continually aware of their current project status through effective reporting and management;
• Continually grow and develop internal and external relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction

Health and Safety
• Ensure company sites and practices comply with OHS, quality and environmental legislation, codes of practice, standards, regulations, and the company OHS and Quality System

Business Development
• Communicate any works opportunities to the Operations Manager(s)
