Our client is taking the market by storm, currently in the early and late development stage of various renewable energy projects in Tasmania, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager of Development to manage project development processes into construction.

The purpose of the role is to project manage the company's portfolio of wind farm projects in Tasmania, which includes the approved wind farms, and future projects in the Central Highlands. The project management will initially be bifocated between a DA approved project commencing into the construction phase, and early stage development of other projects, moving through planning and grid approvals and into construction and operation. It also includes a significant component of local community and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities includes:

• Create and manage project plans and budgets.
• Manage multiple projects through all development stages.
• Project delivery through working with internal specialists in land, planning, environment, engineering, grid, and commercial.
• Identify and manage project risks at each stage of the project.
• Liaise with Government, authorities and Council to advance the projects.
• Manage specialist consultants to deliver outputs on time and on budget
• Manage the secondary consent processes and condition compliance work to prepare the projects for construction
• Prepare project based community engagement strategies that reflect company standards, emerging trends, Government guidelines and community expectations.
• Organise and attend community engagement activities and outputs
• Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including members of public
• Prepare project plans and maps using company GIS system.
• Participate in internal project teams to progress development of projects
• Representing the company at industry conferences, forums, workshops and meetings, involving various third parties including other developers, suppliers, network service providers, regulators and Government authorities.

Key accountabilities:
Accountable for achieving results and targets including but not limited to the following key performance indicators (KPIs):
• Achievement of agreed project milestones.
• A well informed and engaged community and list of stakeholders at each project

The role requires:

• Experience in Wind energy development.
• Knowledge of Tasmanian processes, development standards, and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of the project development life cycle from early stage through to operations
• Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to build relationships and trust with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commercial acumen and entrepreneurial values
• Ability to manage complex project issues, managing time, and setting priorities.
• Knowledge of community engagement strategies in the Australian renewables space.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout Tasmania and Victoria.
