About the Role

The Coordinator Capital Planning and PMO- Project Delivery will take ownership and accountability of the PMO by understanding the strategic directions, corporate drivers, and tactical programs of the council. This will entail having a high level of awareness to the capital planning and projects across all council units, individuals, internal and external stakeholders. You will be key in maintaining a strong, productive, and engaging team culture and will collaborate closely with the branch leadership.

You will also:

• Provide leadership for the development, management, and progression of the Project Management Office ( PMO)
• Liaise with a wide range of organisational stakeholders to lead the coordination of the 10 Year Capital Works Plan
• Develop and promote an organisational Project Management Framework in line with PMIs Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) including training and educational programs and a sustainable centre of community of practice for project management.
• Leadership of the branch support functions and staff to ensure all project delivery teams are adequately supported for everyday procurement, communications, customer management and other general administration tasks.

Key Criteria
To be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate the following experience and skills:
• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of capital works planning, in conjunction with asset management and renewal processes
• Strong decision-making skills with proven ability in project management, financial management, business development and change management
• Proven leadership skills and with strong mentoring, training and interpersonal skills
• Experience in Project Management Office solutions or operations, including knowledge of Project Online.
• Knowledge and experience in efficient change management methods, training and coaching of employees.
