About the Role:

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to assist an Australian gas and electricity company based in New South Wales. Through your strong initiative and create solutions, you will work closely with the Procurement Manager to collectively drive sourcing process improvements, sourcing outcomes and change.

You will manage sourcing activities as well as assist with sourcing and tendering support and contract administration and management.

You will also be responsible for the delivery of the procurement and tendering process and ensuring compliance. You will undertake a number of activities including maintaining, gathering and collating procurement vendor and spend data to present recommendations that drive value and improvement. This role supports administration and management of key enterprise activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with key stakeholders in accordance with the Groups' Internal Key Stakeholder
• Engagement Process to ensure discussion and resolution of key activities such as operational and tactical issues; development of scopes of work and technical specifications; forecasting; planning; ongoing management of strategic supply agreements
• Engage with and advise stakeholders to develop an understanding of business priorities, risks and opportunities
• Provide specialist commercial, sourcing, tendering, policy and process advice across the enterprise
• Balance business needs and sound commercial outcomes through the application of best practice sourcing techniques and build support for new and innovative sourcing approaches
• Develop pre-tender sourcing strategies with stakeholders to determine the best commercial approach and to maximise sourcing outcomes
• Interpret data to develop category strategy proposals which factor in forecasts and risk considerations for various categories
• Provide support to the Materials & Services team and stakeholders through administrating, maintaining and monitoring active tenders and approvals
• Lead, manage and run tendering and sourcing activities; internal approvals (DFA), co-ordinated tender team, RFx - preparation & issue, evaluation - strategy and execution, commercial negotiations, execute & handover
• Utilise and develop eTendering skills, tools and systems
• Adhere to internal Procurement policy & process'
• Manage documentation and storage of activity related artifacts

Key Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience and criteria:

• Demonstrated tendering and sourcing experience
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with a positive attitude

Desired:

• Construction or infrastructure experience highly regarded
