Contracts Team Lead

Role Opportunity
This is a key leadership opportunity with an Oil & Gas platform owner, for an experienced Contracts professional to step into a Contracts Team Lead role reporting to the Managing Director. You will drive a value-led commercial framework across all contracting activities, delivering outcomes beyond cost to support long-term business objectives.
The role involves leading complex negotiations, overseeing the full contract lifecycle, and uplifting internal commercial capability. You will play a central role in aligning contracting practices, strengthening supplier performance, and embedding a consistent, value-driven approach across the business.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial principles within major projects or Oil & Gas
  • Proven experience with EPC/EPCM, FIDIC, NEC, AS or similar contract frameworks
  • Advanced negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on risk management and value optimisation

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead value-driven contracting strategies that prioritise whole-of-life commercial outcomes
  • Manage complex supplier negotiations to achieve optimal business results
  • Oversee full contract lifecycle including tendering, execution, and governance
  • Mentor and develop internal stakeholders to enhance commercial capability
  • Drive supplier performance, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives
