Electrical Project Engineer - Construction & Commissioning - DIDO
This opportunity offers the chance to join a leading Western Australian agribusiness organisation supporting a major regional infrastructure upgrade as part of a long-term grain supply chain expansion program.
You will play a key role delivering the electrical construction and commissioning scope for a large-scale grain receival site upgrade in the Wheatbelt. The project includes power distribution upgrades, MCCs, switchboards, motor control systems, instrumentation, field cabling, conveyor controls, and rail out-loading electrical infrastructure, alongside associated civil, structural, and mechanical works.
This role suits an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with strong site execution and commissioning experience across industrial or infrastructure projects, who enjoys working in a hands-on site-based environment and coordinating electrical contractors through delivery and start-up.

As part of its Path to 2033 strategy, the organisation is investing heavily in regional infrastructure to increase storage capacity, improve rail logistics, and strengthen the efficiency of Western Australia's grain export network.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer on industrial construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience managing electrical installation and commissioning activities
- Experience with LV power distribution, MCCs, switchboards, motors, field devices, and control systems
- Strong contractor coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work site-based in a regional environment
- Strong understanding of electrical safety systems, isolation procedures, and construction risk management
- Experience working to relevant Australian Standards and site compliance requirements
Desirable Skills
- Experience delivering materials handling, bulk handling, mining, rail, or industrial infrastructure projects
- Background in conveyors, motors, drives, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA, and automation systems
- Experience with brownfield upgrades and shutdown/commissioning works
- Previous work on grain handling, mining, or processing facilities
- Experience working on regional or remote construction projects
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate electrical construction and commissioning activities for grain receival site upgrades
- Manage electrical contractors across power, controls, instrumentation, cabling, and switchboard installation scopes
- Oversee installation and commissioning of MCCs, switchboards, motors, conveyors, VSDs, field instrumentation, and associated control systems
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with schedule, safety, quality, and technical requirements
- Support site construction planning, energisation, testing, and commissioning execution
- Coordinate electrical inspections, FAT/SAT activities, loop checks, and pre-start commissioning
- Monitor project progress and report on schedule, risks, and key milestones
- Support resolution of technical issues during installation and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, LOTO, and project standards
- Work closely with project management, operations, and site stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
