Senior Electrical Designer Mining / Major Projects
This Perth CBD-based contract role offers the opportunity to join a highly regarded engineering and project delivery business supporting major mining and minerals processing projects across Western Australia. Working on a flagship brownfields program, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality E&I design packages for a major resources client.

This is an urgent immediate requirement with a 6-month initial contract and a streamlined one-stage interview process.

Role Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support increased resourcing demands on a major long-term mining project. This role will focus on delivering detailed electrical and instrumentation design work within a fast-paced project environment, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The successful candidate will bring strong mining project experience, exceptional design capability, and advanced MicroStation 2D/3D proficiency.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • 710 years' relevant E&I / electrical design experience
  • Strong background in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial projects
  • Highly proficient in MicroStation (2D and 3D)
  • Demonstrated experience producing detailed electrical design deliverables
  • Strong understanding of Australian standards and mining design practices
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience working on Rio Tinto projects
  • Familiarity with Rio Tinto systems, standards, and procedures
  • Brownfields project experience
  • Site exposure across mining or processing facilities

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver detailed electrical and instrumentation design packages
  • Produce and update 2D and 3D MicroStation models and drawings
  • Support project teams across design development and execution phases
  • Ensure compliance with client standards and project procedures
  • Liaise with engineers, designers, and site stakeholders
  • Participate in occasional site visits as required
  • Contribute to design reviews and project documentation
