Looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to join a major gold mining client on a 2 weeks on 1 week off roster for a major expansion project. In this role you will be responsible for multiple procurement contracts that have already been awarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage multiple procurement contracts to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials and services.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and agreements, optimising cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Lead a team of two material controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement best practices in procurement processes to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.
Key Criteria
- Degree in Engineering, Law, Commerce, Business, Accounting or related field
- Proven experience in procurement management within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Previous site-based project experience.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favourable outcomes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with ease.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
