About the Role:
We are looking to recruit a Structural Design Engineer with experience of Shaft and Underground works for a mine expansion project with a Global EPCM.
Our client is providing support to the owner in developing an existing site in the Northern Territory, this challenging billion-dollar expansion will significantly increase the productivity of the mine.
Your role would include working with existing team to deliver structural design and on-site solutions, in the following areas:
Non-Process Infrastructure:
• Shaft Terrace Bulk Earthworks; Final Grading and Drainage.
• Refrigeration Plant, Mixed Use Precinct, Fixed Plant Workshop, Warehousing.
• Concrete/Shotcrete Batch plant, Substations, SCADA Communications
Shaft and Surface Materials Handling:
• This area consists of all works associated with the Shaft, Headframe, Winders and Surface Material Handling System.
• Headframe and associated shaft auxiliary equipment, temporary hoisting equipment to facilitate shaft lining and equipping, permanent production and service hoists.
• Fitting out of plats within the shaft and the surface materials handling system post discharge from the production hoist through waste/product stackers and concrete slickline.
Key Criteria:
• Bachelor of Structural Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree.
• 10 years plus experience in structural engineering design which includes site engineering roles in similar construction projects.
• Experience working as a Structural Design Engineer and/or Field Engineer on mining projects. Shaft and Underground experience are desirable.
• Working knowledge of concrete structures on mining construction sites.
• Exposure to developing structural design across a range of project cycles using Australian Standards.
• Competent in 12D or civil3d software packages will be advantageous.
Whats On Offer:
We are looking for a candidate to work on FIFO basis, doing a 2:1 roster and are offering an initial 12-month contract, with a renumeration of circa $110 per hour.
