About the Role

Opportunity in Osborne Park to head up the Business Development for a well-established Engineering Consultancy.
This is a Permanent role where you will step into an established client based and use your technical expertise to develop new clients to grow the company revenue in the mining sector.

Key Criteria

As the successful candidate for the role of Business Development Manager, you will meet the following criteria;

• Lead profitable revenue growth to meet and exceed annual targets assigned by the leadership team.
• Develop and nurture professional networks and relationships with government agencies, industry groups, consultants, and the private sector to pursue new leads, opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, nurture existing client relationships, and leverage client relationships to generate new leads and opportunities.
• Develop a robust sales pipeline aligned with the growth needs of the business and manage prospective clients through the sales pipeline to successful closing.
• Identify key client values and decision-making criteria and develop client profiles.
• Coordinate client feedback and establish timely and effective responses to the feedback.
• Identify, coordinate and attend regional marketing initiatives like conferences and client events.
• Monitor relevant tender and client procurement/prequalification systems.
• Lead the response to Expression of Interest (EOI) and the development of client-targeted Statements of Qualification (SOQ).
• Participate in proposal kick-off meetings and support the development of winning proposal strategies and high-quality proposals.
• Contribute to the maintenance of the CRM and proposal management systems.
• Effectively negotiate contractual terms for new business.
• Maintain high-level knowledge and understanding of the business, including service offerings, personnel, and their technical capabilities.
• Maintain an understanding of the ongoing project schedules and resource availability to ensure that client expectations of scope and/or schedule are met.
• Coordinate effectively with the company's operations group to support resource planning.
Degree or diploma in engineering, engineering technology, or environmental sciences.
Experience in the Resources or Metals and Mining Industry.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including overnight and occasional international travel.
• Experience with CRM systems would be an asset.
