About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent - E&I to join their site-based team on a 2:1 roster to play a crucial role within an ongoing major iron ore project right here in WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and documentation for commissioning and completions.
  • Ensure all project safety procedures are fully understood and implemented throughout the pre-commission and commissioning phases.
  • Manage and supervise site commissioning and related activities according to the plan, ensuring work is executed per job cards, specifications, and instructions.
  • Identify commissioning priorities and manage interfaces between E&I completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning requirements.
  • Prepare all commissioning work packs, job cards, drawings, procedures, specifications, and documentation to plan for the offshore scope.
  • Collaborate with planners to prepare the schedule of commissioning activities, develop integrated site plans, and identify critical paths.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of engineering and construction work scopes.
  • Develop, monitor, and track key indicators to demonstrate performance against plans and targets.
  • Identify and develop handover procedures.
  • Ensure project quality requirements are met.
  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Identify specialist training requirements and develop a training plan.
  • Support the procurement group by reviewing vendor information and assessing related aspects.
  • Identify all vendors required for commissioning and organize the vendor plan.

Key Criteria

  • Extensive experience in relevant industry commissioning projects, proven in planning, preparing, and executing commissioning scopes and shutdowns.
  • Strong E&I background.
  • Demonstrable understanding and success in managing site HSE requirements for construction and completions.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management, materials control, and contractual issues.
  • Proficient in understanding and reviewing engineering/construction drawings.
  • Skilled in developing good working relationships at all levels, from field personnel to management.
