Control Systems Engineer - Water


The Company

This dynamic company spans diverse industries, encompassing water/wastewater, oil & gas, mining, rail, and manufacturing. However, the role we are currently offering is specifically focused on the water industry.


The Position

We are seeking an accomplished Control Systems professional who will be dedicated exclusively to collaborating with one of our key clients located on the Gold Coast. This role is characterized by its consultative and client-facing nature, involving regular visits to the client site in the Gold Coast for two days a week; For the remaining three days, you have the flexibility to either work from home or choose between our offices in Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
Given the specialized focus on the water industry, it is essential that you have experience as a Control Systems Engineer within the Water industry.


Responsibilities include:

• Engaging in client consultations to formulate proposals.
• Designing control systems tailored for the water and wastewater industry.
• Translating customer requirements into precise engineering designs.
• Ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery, particularly in fixed-price scenarios.
• Conducting site audits, estimating project costs, and crafting comprehensive proposals.
• Undertaking on-site commissioning activities.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in designing control systems for the water and wastewater industry.
• Must have full working rights in Australia (preferably Permanent Resident or Citizen).
• Must have a strong grasp of change management processes.
• Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into engineering designs.
• Experience in designing and commissioning field networks, encompassing Ethernet, Modbus, and Profibus/Profinet.
• Experience On-site commissioning.

Technical skills:

• Experience with PLC systems including Siemens (TIA Portal & Step 7), Schneider (Eco structure), and experience with Omron would be desirable.
• Experience with SCADA systems including Wonderware, Citect, Geo SCADA (Clear SCADA), and Win CC HMI.
• Designing and commissioning field networks, including Ethernet, Modbus, and Profibus/Profinet.
