Civil Estimator - Brisbane
Permanent | Civil Construction | $10M-$20M Projects


About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and ambitious estimator who wants to take the next step - to lead tenders, manage client relationships, and ensure the project workbook remains consistently full. As a Civil Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the success and growth of our clients business.

You will be report directly to the senior leadership team, who will provide technical assistance and help ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company goals.

This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on, small-team environment where initiative and accountability are recognised and rewarded.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare estimates, tenders, and quotations in collaboration with the project team.
• Manage and prioritise workloads to meet strict tender and submission deadlines.
• Liaise directly with clients to determine tender progress and present feedback during internal meetings.
• Support project teams with tender queries, contribute to methodologies, and assist with programme development.
• Maintain productive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Assist with Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and Capability Statement preparation as required.
• Keep abreast of Australian Standards, regulations, and construction techniques to ensure compliance and accuracy in estimating.
• Coordinate and lead tender reviews with the Construction Manager before final submission.
• Identify and highlight contract terms or conditions that may affect pricing or risk allocation.
• Participate in business development activities, representing and promoting the company to existing and prospective clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying are preferred but not essential.
More important is drive, diligence, and the motivation to progress your career within a respected mid-tier contractor.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to interpret and apply company quality systems and estimating procedures.
• Demonstrated project coordination and program management ability, with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Competent in MS Word, Excel, Project, Vista, and relevant estimating software packages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and confident approach.
