About the Role
Looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client who are engaged in the implementation phase of a major mining project in the Pilbara region.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the costs and contracts for this mining project in the Pilbara. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the project remains within budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cost estimation and budgeting for the mining project.
• Prepare and manage contracts, including subcontractor agreements.
• Monitor project expenditures and track against the budget.
• Conduct regular site visits and assessments to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to resolve commercial issues.
• Provide financial reports and forecasts to support project decision-making.
• Assess variations, change orders, and claims.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support in the negotiation of settlements and disputes.

Key Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the mining industry, with a strong track record of cost control and contract management.
• Knowledge of mining and construction processes, with experience in EPCM projects preferred.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
• Willingness to work on a 2-weeks-on, 1-week-off roster in a remote site-based location.
