Role Opportunity

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the company's Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, systems and practices are compliant and effectively implemented across all operations.

This role has responsibility across all locations, sites and projects, ensuring consistent HSE coverage, legislative compliance and continual improvement of the Safety Management System. The position provides leadership and oversight to site-based HSE resources and works closely with operational leadership to meet both company and client safety requirements.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Thorough understanding of Workers Compensation and WHS / OHS legislation
  • Demonstrated experience managing and implementing HSE Management Systems
  • Experience controlling and effectively implementing HSE processes
  • Experience developing and delivering safety training plans
  • Demonstrated experience working in remote or site-based environments
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovative problem-solving capability
  • Sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong investigation, reporting and project management skills
  • Excellent ability to influence stakeholders and present to senior management
  • High level report writing capability (policies, procedures and documentation)
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
  • High Risk Work Licence (desirable)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage site-wide Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance across multiple operations.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, OHS and mining legislation, statutory and project requirements.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to HSE advisors, site leaders and contractors.
  • Drive contractor and subcontractor HSE performance and accountability.
  • Conduct and lead audits, inspections, safety meetings and incident investigations.
  • Develop, implement and monitor safety systems, procedures, inductions and training programs.
  • Maintain critical HSE registers including plant, equipment, licences and material safety data sheets.
  • Compile and report safety statistics and performance data for senior management.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a strong safety-first culture across all sites.
