Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

This Osborne Parkbased role offers a mix of workshop and site work, with short trips away for commissioning and maintenance (around 12 weeks annually). You'll take on a hands-on position focused on installation, commissioning, and support of advanced weighing and loading control systems, working closely with major mining and transport clients across Australia.

Role Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join an established engineering and technology solutions provider. This Perth-based role involves a blend of workshop and site-based work, supporting the delivery and maintenance of innovative train weighing and loading systems for major mining and rail operators.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the mining or resources industry
  • Proven background in instrumentation and automation
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuitry, testing methods, and engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Valid driver's licence and Australian Permanent Residency
  • Strong communication, client liaison, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or within multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable Skills
  • Previous Leading Hand experience
  • Electrical trade background
  • Understanding of PLC programming
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software (MS Word, Excel)

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Build, test, install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems
  • Perform maintenance, installation, and commissioning of weighing and loading control systems
  • Provide technical support and field service to client sites across Australia
  • Undertake site commissioning and system upgrades (short stints of travel required)
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, electricians, and other trades on project delivery
