Senior Electrical Designer
This office-based opportunity offers the chance to play a key role within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy supporting major projects across mining, resources, materials handling, power, and renewables. Working as part of an established electrical and instrumentation team, you'll lead the design and delivery of electrical systems from concept through to detailed design, collaborating closely with engineers and designers across multiple disciplines.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• 810+ years of electrical design experience within engineering consultancies or major projects
• Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems, including switchrooms, transformers, MCCs, VSDs, cabling, earthing, and control systems
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenBuildings Designer and Bentley MicroStation (essential)
• Experience producing detailed design deliverables such as SLDs, schematics, terminations, general arrangements, and block diagrams
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Desirable Skills
• Experience in 3D electrical design including equipment placement and cable routing
• Exposure to a range of commodities such as gold, copper, lithium, and iron ore
• Ability to mentor junior designers and share technical knowledge
• Familiarity with design in materials handling, power, and renewable energy projects
Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop and design complete electrical systems for new and existing projects
• Prepare detailed drawings, documentation, and technical deliverables using Bentley tools
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure integration of designs
• Ensure designs meet all safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Provide design support, review, and troubleshooting for ongoing projects
• Maintain project schedules and deliver to deadlines
• Assist in developing design standards and processes for continuous improvement
