Senior Electrical Project Engineer
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a motivated Senior Electrical Project Engineer to support major studies across their portfolio. This role offers global exposure within our client's business and involves working on diverse projects, from brownfield and greenfield mining developments to renewable energy initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and direct engineering work for major studies from Stage 0 to Stage 2B (and sometimes combined 2B/3).
• Support Study Directors and functional leads in progressing engineering through the client's Investment System.
• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams evaluating all aspects of the projects, including geology, mine planning, and ESG.
• Develop necessary engineering documentation to navigate internal stage gates and obtain required permits.
• Provide electrical engineering expertise across studies and projects, and develop global governance documentation as needed.
• Ensure engineering designs meet scope of works, standards compliance, safety, schedule, quality, and budget requirements.
• Monitor project progress, conduct technical reviews, and provide guidance on technical matters.
• Develop technical documentation including tender packs, study reports, and owner's minimum requirements.
About You:
• Tertiary Qualification within Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in large-scale, complex projects, including processing and non-processing infrastructure with a focus on HV transmission and distribution.
• Strong background in technical documentation, safety in design, risk management, project management systems, and engineering governance.
• Experience with large-scale processing facilities or heavy industrial site electrical maintenance and operation.
• Knowledgeable in construction methods, quality assurance, and field engineering.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to develop complex engineering solutions and facilitate multidisciplinary teams.
• Experienced in developing and managing project schedules and change management processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite; experience with energy generation units (solar, wind turbines) is advantageous.
