About the role:

• Experienced Civil Engineer to join a well regarded consultant to focus on the civil engineering design deliverables for a key refinery plant project.
• Reporting to the Lead Civil Engineer you will be focusing on the civil design of open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage network and general civil design around processing plant.
• Advise lead engineer when project scope is not clear and that assist with changes to comply with project change management processes.
• Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
• Assist with scoping & liaise closely with other disciplines on project and design issues
• Liaise closely with client and project stakeholders
• Initial 12 month contract with good chance of extension
• Perth CBD based with attractive hourly rate offered

Key Criteria:

• Formal Civil Engineering qualifications that are recognised by Engineers Australia
• Previous consultant engineering background
• Possessing a strong technical civil engineering background within bulk earthworks design, drainage and heavy pavement design
• Strong experience working on civil engineering projects within the mining industry or resources sector.
• Experience in using of civil engineering specific software such as Drains, StormCAD or similar and also familiar with software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD would be beneficial.
• Excellent stakeholder skills and the ability to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Strong reporting and project documentation skills
• Excellent safety attitude and knowledge of industry guidelines
