Senior Project Engineer - ElectricalThis site-based opportunity offers the chance to lead key sustaining capital projects across major bauxite mining operations in the southwest of WA. Working within an integrated project delivery team, you will oversee the full project life cycle from early study phases through to construction, commissioning, and handover. Role OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a high-performing project delivery team supporting a long-term program of sustaining capital works across two major mining operations in WA's southwest region.You'll be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, managing budgets, schedules, safety, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful delivery of brownfield and sustaining projects.This role offers an excellent opportunity for a project professional seeking a stable, long-term contract role with flexibility for partial work-from-home and regular RDOs.Benefits$100/hr inclusive of super | 40-hour week 12-month initial contract with strong likelihood of extensionRostered Day Off (RDO) and Work-from-Home flexibilitySite-based role south of Perth Join a leading global engineering and project delivery company Deliver projects spanning early studies through to commissioning and handover Support long-term brownfields and sustaining capital programs with a tier-one resources client Essential Qualifications & SkillsStrong experience in project engineering or project management, ideally within mining, resources, or heavy industryProven experience managing small to mid-scale capital projects from concept through to completionStrong knowledge of engineering design processes, construction interface, and commissioningDemonstrated understanding of cost control, scheduling, and risk managementExcellent stakeholder engagement skills, including interfacing with client operations and construction teamsTertiary qualification in engineering (any discipline considered)Sound understanding of HSE management, quality systems, and project governance processesExperience in sustaining capital or brownfields environments highly regardedDesirable SkillsPrior exposure to Alcoa or similar mining operationsExperience leading multidisciplinary project teamsKnowledge of front-end loading (FEL) frameworks and sustaining capital delivery modelsFamiliarity with project assurance activities such as HAZOP, FMEA, constructability and value engineering reviewsDuties & ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end project delivery across multiple sustaining capital projectsOversee engineering and design deliverables from early study through to detailed designCoordinate interface between engineering, operations, construction, and commissioning teamsDrive safety-in-design and ensure compliance with HSE and quality requirementsMonitor and report on cost, schedule, and performance metricsPrepare and maintain project management plans, risk registers, and progress reportsLead stakeholder engagement with the client's project, operations, and procurement teamsEnsure timely award and execution of procurement and construction contractsSupport handover of completed projects to operations and ensure full closeout in client systemsOur ClientOur client is a global engineering and project delivery organisation, providing end-to-end solutions across the resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
