Job description

Role Opportunity
Maintenance Engineer with experience in mobile fleet - ideally autonomous required for an initial 6 month contract, on a 5:2, 4:3 DIDO roster. This client side role is working with a leading gold producer.

  • 5 days on, 2 days off- 4 days on, 3 days off DIDO roster
  • 9 hour days onsite & competitive hourly rate

Qualifications & Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with mobile mining fleet, ideally with exposure to autonomous operations.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the following equipment will be highly regarded:

-Caterpillar 793F Dump Trucks (AMTs)
-994/995 Wheel Loaders
-D11 Dozers
-18M / 24M Graders
-785 Base Trucks (Water Carts)
-395 Excavators with Rock Breakers

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent safety attitude

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and engineering expertise to improve fleet reliability and maintenance practices.
  • Assist with the development and optimisation of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Monitor fleet performance, analyse breakdown trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the integration and operational performance of autonomous mobile equipment (AMT).
  • Collaborate with maintenance, planning, and operational teams to maximise equipment availability and utilisation.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all work complies with site safety standards, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations.
