Job description

Role Opportunity:
An opportunity is available for an experienced Outage Planner and Scheduler to support our client on the Cockburn Power Plant on an initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension or permanency. Reporting to the Planning Lead, you will lead the planning and coordination of outage activities across operations and maintenance, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget and to quality standards. This role suits a technically strong planner with experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments who thrives in a collaborative, safety-focused team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Trade certificate or relevant qualifications in power generation or a similar industry
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Strong experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera or similar)
  • Solid understanding of work management, planning, scheduling and contracting techniques
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly
  • Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of electricity generation plant or a similar heavy industrial environment

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate major maintenance outages, overhauls and strategic maintenance programs
  • Develop detailed work scopes, schedules, work breakdown structures and job packages
  • Coordinate labour, materials, logistics and contractor resources across multiple locations
  • Prepare vendor quotes, purchase requisitions and support tender and contract award processes
  • Assist with outage and maintenance budgeting and cost control
  • Manage service contracts and support strategic and rotational spares management
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, OEMs and suppliers while promoting a strong safety culture
