- Principal Structural Engineer with strong mining experience to join a well regarded consultant.
- Be responsible for scoping and technical delivery of projects relating to mainly iron projects
- Have a key focus on budget and schedules .
- Deliver structural engineering services that meet client requirements and adhere to applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Clarification of project scope and identify changes to the lead structural engineer as per project change management processes.
- Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc. Support technical development of solutions, recommendations and creates final documentation for project deliverables.
- Supervise structural drafting to deliver project requirements.
- Support the client project management team on specific projects where required
- Initial 12 month contract with good chance of extension
- Perth CBD location and competitive hourly rate offered
Key Criteria
- Bachelor of Structural/Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree
- Extensive structural engineering design background within the mining sector
- Proven track record in leading a team of engineers and designers
- Previous experience in advanced analysis work in dynamic analysis, nonlinear fracture mechanics and other advanced analysis technique
- Previous experience with fit for purpose design to non-process infrastructure facilities
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Spacegass and/or StaadPro
- Knowledge of BHP or Rio Tinto Iron design requirement is required
