Job description

About the role:

  • Project Manager required for a large scale stainless steel tanks package associated to a large mining project.
  • Leading company that designs, manufactures, commissions and services customised plant and system for a wide range of industries in the energy and resource sectors.
  • The project is expected to be 18 months in duration and then the intention is to mobilise onto other projects.
  • Lead the interface between the EPC & Fabricator.
  • Leading the process to balance maximum customer satisfaction with the delivery of the appropriate profit margins, enabling the business maximise profit
  • Review & execute project contracts.
  • Work with internal teams to achieve a effective transition from tender win to project completion
  • Define the scope of work.
  • Lead GATE process, define & deliver to milestones.
  • Closely manage budgets & deliver Gross Margin ambition.
  • Document review
  • Able to communicate ideas and make decisions
  • Develop Documentation/Manuals.
  • Permanent staff role, parking provided and competitive salary offered
  • Inner south of river location. Travel to Vietnam during middle/end stages of the project.

Key Criteria
  • Engineering degree or relevant experience in a manufacturing/heavy industry environment
  • Beneficial to have Tanks experience, general fabrication and stainless experience
  • Experienced in managing contractors for major EPC companies
  • Ability to communicate plans effectively and confidently internally/externally (including negotiations).
  • Able to travel up overseas (up to 2 weeks at a time) during middle/end stages of the project
  • Strong budget control and variations order experience
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering plans, fabrication drawings and client specifications.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and challenges in a measured, constructive way.
  • Understand and manage risks (mitigation plans).
  • Excellent leadership and team skills
  • Strong stakeholder skills
  • Able to prioritise effectively.
