This role will act as the Civil Subject Matter Expert (SME) within studies and engineering, supporting the development, review, and delivery of civil components across tailings projects.

An experienced Senior Civil Project Engineer (SPE) is required to provide client-side technical leadership and oversight for tailings-related civil engineering scopes. This role will act as the Civil Subject Matter Expert (SME) within studies and engineering, supporting the development, review, and delivery of civil components across tailings projects.
Benefits
- Engagement: Initial 6-month contract
- Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible, hours as required)
- Location: 1 day per week Perth office-based, remainder work from home
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
- Strong experience in mining , with strong exposure to tailings project
- Strong civil project delivery experience and background working in study project phases
- Proven client-side or consultant management experience, including oversight of engineering consultants
- Strong technical credibility, communication skills, and stakeholder management capability
- Ability to work autonomously within a flexible, part-time arrangement while maintaining high technical standards
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the Civil SME for all civil engineering aspects of tailings projects, including earthworks, embankments, water management, and associated infrastructure
- Provide technical oversight and direction to engineering consultants, managing work packages and ensuring alignment with client and project requirements
- Review and comment on consultant deliverables, including design documentation, reports, and technical submissions
- Respond to and resolve technical queries raised by consultants in a timely and pragmatic manner
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across studies, engineering, projects, and operations
- Coordinate with external stakeholders as required, including engineering consultancies and specialist advisors
- Support studies and project phases with sound civil engineering input, risk identification, and constructability considerations
