Client-side Senior Mechanical Engineer - Asset Integrity to join a global mining company delivering a range of asset integrity packages across their processing plant operations. This role is a 6 month contact with a view to extension.
Benefits:
- Perth based with a mix of office and WFH arrangements. Site travel likely to their operations across Australia, PNG and Ghana and Americas.
- Perth office work: Typical 40 hours p/w, Site based work: 10-12 hours days
- Competitive hourly rate offered
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering
- Min 10 + years in brownfields work within mining processing plants, materials handling or similar
- Experience in the inspection and management of pressure vessels and cranes within brownfield environments is essential
- Proven background in asset integrity management on mining or heavy industrial assets-ideally in gold or mineral processing.
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards and site inspection practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Competence in asset integrity inspections and preparation of related reports/documentation
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically,
- Duties & Responsibilities
- Routine and ad hoc inspections of critical plant and equipment
- Preparing inspection reports, recommendations, and asset integrity documentation
- Assessing equipment risks and recommending preventative actions to avoid outages
- Ensuring inspection and repairs meet codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Working independently, making technical judgments, and escalating when required
- Recognising that this is not a site-based primary inspection role but rather acting as an external corporate resource brought in to assist site teams.
