With expansion of the business progressing well, and with the restart of an existing site, we are compiling a team to help run the operation and to compliment a dynamic and very capable leadership team.

This opportunity is suited to someone that makes things happen and wants to be an influencer within a small but dedicated Owners team overseeing the contract miner performance.

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Alternate Manager, on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, the Senior Mine Surveyor will be accountable for leading all mine surveying activities required to support the mine production strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish the mine surveying practices and processes according to industry standards and best practice.
• Oversee the surveying and calculation of open pit mining areas, waste and ore stockpiles, pit wall monitoring, and any heritage/clearing areas.Develop survey plans and systems that optimise mine production.
• Utilise drone surveying equipment to generate accurate survey data in a timely manner.
• Utilise machine control for open pit diggers to ensure survey data compliments the mine plan.
• Lead end of month surveys to ensure accurate reporting.
• Proactively contribute to the creation of mine plans for regulatory approval.
• Contribute to mine engineering projects on an adhoc basis.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Stay updated with advancements in mining technology, equipment, and industry trends, and assess their potential application to the mine surveying operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelors degree in Surveying essential.
• Must have completed Drone Pilot Certification.
• Several years of progressive experience in mine surveying operations, surface mining experience preferable.
• In-depth knowledge of mining processes, and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective team management and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in using mine surveying software and technology for production tracking and reporting.
• Leadership abilities, including the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Adaptable and flexible mindset to navigate dynamic and challenging mining environments.
