Job description

About the role:
  • Senior Project Engineer - NPI to work on a key iron ore project
  • Scope: Primarily responsible for managing the procurement of EPCM site office compound facilities. Additionally, will also manage a miscellaneous site contract to install the facilities, do minor earthworks and concrete and any other pieces required to support the main construction contracts.
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; take action to resolve problems including minimizing risk and delay.
  • Ensure the project deliverables and documentation meet client requirements and the specified engineering standards.
  • Identify potential problems, risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement project controls and specifications, project schedules, budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide contract management including identifying & claim variations, extensions of time and other contractual entitlements.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner and ensure the works are constructed in accordance with safety.
  • Monitor and expedite procurement activities for contracts.
  • Initial 12 month contract with good chance of extension as the role is likely to continue and be required until project completion in 2028.
  • The role is available for an immediate start in Perth CBD. Will become site-based from April 2025 most likely till project completion in 2028.
  • The future site roster will be 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
  • Competitive hourly rate offered

Key Criteria

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in project engineering.
  • Experience working in an EPCM and major mining project environments.
  • Strong experience in areas such as NPI, and mining infrastructure.
  • Ability to execute effective leadership and direction to the project team as required.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills and undertakes tasks with diligence and attention to the necessary detail.
  • Must be willing to mobilise to the site in 2025 and support the project at site capacity.
