Role Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Study Manager to lead a complex mining study. This contract role, reporting to the Capital and Projects division, will focus on preparing assets for execution phases. The position spans open-cut and underground operations, guiding PFS and FS-level studies and integrating technical inputs to deliver high-quality, value-focused outcomes.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in mining study management, particularly at PFS and FS levels
  • Major study experience involving investments circa $500 million
  • Strong technical mining background with exposure to multi-commodity assets (gold, copper, nickel). Surface and Underground
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across geology, geotech, mine planning, and operations
  • Experience consolidating technical inputs and presenting value/risk frameworks
  • Effective communicator with an ability to engage and influence across departments and regions
  • Familiarity with structured project governance frameworks and stage-gate processes
  • Preference given to candidates with owner-side experience over consulting-only backgrounds
  • Strong preference for candidates with study-focused backgrounds (not hybrid Project/Study Managers)
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies across multiple assets
  • Integrate inputs from technical teams (geotech, mine planning, tailings, geology, metallurgy)
  • Assess and articulate technical and economic value drivers, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Frame multiple pit development options to support investment decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with operational site teams and general managers for alignment and buy-in
  • Ensure studies are structured and documented to meet downstream project execution requirements
  • Provide guidance to ensure site-level study inputs are complete, realistic, and risk-assessed
  • Actively participate in stakeholder forums and study team reviews
  • Maintain strong engagement with project delivery leadership to ensure smooth handover and readiness
