Job Overview:
We are seeking an I&C Principal Engineer/Advisor with expertise in Underground Fixed Plant Mining. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of safety systems, including air quality monitoring, ventilation control, gas analysis, and personnel tracking. A strong background in PLC/SCADA systems is essential, with experience in OT infrastructure being a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop standards, advise on maintenance, and ensure compliance for automation, control, and safety systems.
- Act as the primary contact for automation and control systems related to ventilation and air quality monitoring.
- Collaborate with OT/IT teams to integrate control systems and guide network design.
- Oversee automation and safety projects, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all systems meet relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Lead safety audits and implement improvements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide regular reports on system performance, air quality, and project progress to senior management.
- Stay updated on new technologies and trends in fixed plant control systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience with underground mine fixed plant control and instrumentation.
- Expertise in safety systems, including air quality monitoring, ventilation control, and personnel tracking.
- Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems and control philosophies.
- Familiarity with OT infrastructure and network design.
- Proven project management experience in automation and safety systems.
- Thorough understanding of industry best practices and regulatory compliance in underground mining.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and manage stakeholders.
- Ability to stay informed on emerging technologies and implement innovative solutions for safety and efficiency.
